GOLD
VALVE CARTRIDGE EMULATORS BY RACE TECH
Damping rod forks are notorious for being both too harsh and too easy to
bottom. This is the nature of damping rod fixed orifice forks. Until now, all
you could do is change spring rate, oil viscosity and damping hole size. The
best available was a serious compromise. The Gold Valve Cartridge Emulator is
another one of the outstanding inventions from Race Tech’s Paul There. Simply
put; Emulators make damping rod forks perform like well-tuned cartridge forks.
Emulators are tunable valves that sit on top of the damping rods and are held in
place with the main springs. This makes them both simple to install and
completely tunable for all conditions and rider preferences. Currently adjusted
at 2.5 turns.
Typical
V-Max's have a very soft front end allowing for almost unsafe front braking
conditions. Until now. Race Tech manufactures the finest springs in the world. Exacting
tolerances, precise rates and the finest materials available produce outstanding
results.
Five
position, external rebound damping adjustment allows you to dial in the ride you
want. Four position, easily adjusted spring pre-load cam lets you adjust for
different loads and ride characteristics. Velocity sensitive, multi stage
internal valving gives a consistent ride and handling over a variety
of-surfaces. Gas charged, fade free operation. The body is machined from
aircraft quality aluminum, clear anodized for an attractive durable finish. Double
walled construction

XENON SAPPHIRE BLUE HEADLIGHT
Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights are the latest and brightest
automotive lights to hit the market. Many luxury automobiles (Lexus, Porsche,
Mercedes) either come standard with them or offer them as an option. They
illuminate a blue/white light in the dark and during the day seem to illuminate
several rainbow colors.
STARBURST PREMIUM HEADLIGHT MODULATOR
Only
unit on the market that keeps some voltage on the bulb for longer life and at
the same time also reduces load on the electrical system.

SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHT
Autometer's
new Quick
Lite shift light is much smaller that other "pencil" style lights. In
fact, this one is just slightly longer than a tube of lipstick - just 10.5 cm
long and 1.5 cm diameter. Comes with
8000RPM shift pill. Currently set at 8000RPM allowing 530RPM reaction time tolerance
before hitting peak HP at 8,530 as rated on the Dynometer in December 2000. This
electric module allows the RPM "Pills" to be used for triggering
Shift-Lites in 200RPM increments. For standard electronic Ignitions (1 and 2
pulse), 12-16 volts. 1 amp max.

WALKER'S HOLESHOT PERFORMANCE
V-MAX
AUTO BOOST '2'
Position #1 keeps V-Boost from coming on at all. This makes for much safer riding in damp or wet weather and should help fuel mileage in high speed traveling. Position #2 is your factory stock V-Boost operation. Position #3 allows V-Boost to be turned on at any RPM for much harder launches and throttle response below 5800 RPM. “Note! We do not claim horsepower gains, but added throttle response can be expected” claims the manufacturer. They're crazy, this is a must product for the Max and makes for an incredible difference in performance and sound.
STEERING STABILIZER/FURBUR FIX
For
those who are familiar with the history of the V-Max there has
always been the inherent problem
of a slight wobble on these bikes under hard accelerations and deceleration. The
TOBI Steering Dampener was installed to eliminate this problem. It is one of the
finest available on the market. It has 20 adjustments possible by turning the
end of the piston clockwise for more dampening for a heavy and stiffer
feel. Counter-clockwise to loosen and lighten. There is a heavy duty conical plate welded
to
the frame in the most professional
manner and looks factory done. It is then bolted just under the handlebar
bracket out of site and bolted to the frame mount. Some might be familiar with
the “Furbur Fix” which was developed by John Furbur to eliminate the wobble
by alternating the steering bushing, putting it on top of the lower lock nut instead of
on the very bottom.
This too has been done making this bike one of the most stable V-Max’s on the
road.
DRAG

CUSTOM FORMED HEAT RESISTANT AIR DAM
This
air dam is fastened in four locations. It was designed to give a low profile
look to the lower portion of the motorcycle in addition to providing some functionality.
It is designed to protect the oil filter which is completely exposed to the
road and any debris kicked up from the front tire when stock. It allows for easy
removal of the oil filer by removing two nut crowns and lowering the back of the
dam until sufficient clearance is obtained. Not another one out there. This is a
custom fabrication and not a purchase.
HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH
Installed in this bike is a Barnett HD clutch spring which creates 50% more clamping pressure than stock without a real heavy handle. All new factory clutch disks including an additional full size clutch disk replacing a spacer. This is a typical modification done on V-Max's for longer lasting clutch wear and better performance. All work professionally done in a state of the art shop. Good for up to 200 Rear Wheel Horse Power. The hydraulic fluid has been changed to a synthetic brand to eliminate any loss of feel.
COBRA
SLASH-CUT EXHAUST
Along
with creating and incredible deep sound, and look as though they deserve to
be on a muscle bike (4 into 4) they lower the performance of the V-Max.
Until now. This bike underwent 21 consecutive Dyno runs
to increase the performance to above factory specs. The exhaust was
strategically drilled from 2 to a final combination of (6) 3/16ths holes in each
exhaust to obtain the maximum performance without losing the quality of sound.
The exhaust caps were then painted in High Temp black paint to eliminate any
chance of deterioration. The black end caps also add to the muscle appearance of
the bike.
REAR
FENDER - BILLET SIGNALS

TAILLIGHT
The
rear fender, license bracket, license plate, and tail lens assembly have been
removed. This is the original fender laser cut and polished by a organization
that laser polishes the F-16's at Luke Air Force Base. It would pass any
inspection for the highest quality and looks like factory. The license plate has
been relocated with a custom aluminum bracket and light meeting all D.O.T.
specifications. Absolutely perfect. A
full set of matching billet aluminum turn signals with bright amber lenses on the front and
rear. The
rear lights also act as running lights to provide additional safety in
the night. The rear tail/brake light is a custom mount and mounted just under
the seat
bar. As typical on everything done on this bike all wiring is professionally and
securely done.
DYNO
TUNED - STAGE 1 KIT - K&N AIR FILTER
On
December 16th this bike was perfectly tuned to 113 Rear Wheel Horsepower.
Most V-Max's come from the factory between 104-107RWHP. This included the
Y-cover on the air box which extremely limits the breathing capabilities. With
the Y-cover removed (small plastic cover
held on by 4 screws) this bike tested to 117RWHP. The torque curve is incredible
on this bike as compared to about 35 other V-Max's this shop has tested. One of
highest they've ever produced with such minor mods. Peak horsepower was achieved
at 8,530RPM where most Max's achieve peak well over 9,000RPM when tested. It
underwent a total of 21 runs to get these kind of results. It was decided to
create a bike that would run smoothly in all climates from temperatures ranging
from 50 to 115 degrees than squeeze all the ponies out of it that you can. You
rather have a bike that runs flawlessly each time, every time, all the time than
one that chokes when the temp changes. Believe me, it is plenty fast as it is.
Also installed is a free breathing K&N air filter.
GARAGE DOOR OPENER - BATTERY CHARGER
Mounted on the instrument cluster is a RED aviation push button to
activate
the garage door opener. Notice the BLACK 3-way V-Boost switch just to the left. The
bike does not include the opener which is mounted between the air box and
coolant overflow reservoir. You will need to wire your own opener which is very
easy to do. Included with the bike is a small battery charger that connects to
the battery by an auxiliary battery harness that is accessible under the seat.
It is a good idea to charge the battery every month or so. Just plug it in at
night and your ready to go in the morning. The battery has never had anything
other than purified water in it and operates perfectly.
Also
installed in the bike is a product called Water Wetter to help reduce engine
temperature and wear. When installed, it reduced the operating temperature by
about 15 degrees over the factory coolant. Red
Line WaterWetter® Supercoolant is a unique
wetting agent for cooling systems which reduces coolant temperatures by as much
as 30°F. This liquid product can be used to provide rust and corrosion
protection in plain water for racing engines, which provides much better heat
transfer properties than glycol-based antifreeze. Or it can be added to new or
used antifreeze to improve the heat transfer of ethylene and propylene glycol
systems. Designed for modern aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass, and bronze
systems.
